“Grape festivals” in the Fascist era were by the Fascist government in 1930 at the initiative of Undersecretary Marescalchi with the approval of the Duce and then spread widely in the suburbs.
The actual motivations for organizing a nationwide grape celebration were mainly economic and strictly political.
